Discover the Dutch Countryside and Tulip Farm Travel the beautiful countryside to a tulip farm, then visit a village to see windmills and traditional crafts. En route you will see a typical Dutch landscape, with its endless rolling fields and windmills of the Schermer polder, before arriving at a working tulip farm. At the farm, you will visit the greenhouses that are currently growing Holland’s national flower, with more than a million tulips currently being cultivated. See how modern technology plays its role in the “bunching room,” where a state-of-the-art X-ray robot bunches up to 120,000 tulips per day. After lunch, continue to the village of Zaanse Schans, an open air museum along the banks of the Zaan River. See windmills in operation using traditional techniques that were once used to produce and service goods for various industries. You will also see the crafts of wooden shoe making (clogs) and cheese making. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
