Great Composers of Vienna

Discover the City’s Musical Heritage Become acquainted with Vienna’s classical music icons as you learn about the city’s musical heritage. Your first stop is at the City Park, one of the oldest in Vienna. Here, you will be greeted by a gold-gilded statue of Johann Strauss II. After time for photos, take a brief walk to the Haus der Musik (House of Music) located at the palace of Archduke Karl. Four floors invite you to immerse yourself in the world of music during a melodic journey, as you observe composers at work and learn about the future of music composition. Continue on foot to the Mozarthaus; located at Domgasse 5, it was the Viennese residence of renowned Classical composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart from 1784-1787. During your visit, gain insight into his life, music and late 18th-century Vienna as you tour its three floors of exhibits. Afterward, you will return to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
