Šibenik Promenade

A Historic City Stroll Explore the sights of Šibenik and visit the Šibenik City Museum to gain insight into the city’s history. Meet your local guide and make your way to the center of the Old Town on foot. Here, you will view the baroque Church of St. Francis, which stands on the site of the monastery and church founded in 1229, and incorporates some of its original structure. Continue on to the square of John Paul II, where you will see the grand exterior of Šibenik’s theater, and the Gothic-Renaissance Church of St. Ivan, an important center for religious and cultural life in Šibenik. View the sculpted stone facade of St. James Cathedral, the most important Renaissance monument in Croatia. Take time to appreciate its architectural details before heading to the nearby Šibenik City Museum, housed in the former Prince’s Palace, where you will have a guided visit. After, return to your awaiting ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
