Mercedes-Benz Factory
See How Luxury Is Made Witness the precision that goes into every Mercedes on this fascinating tour. One of the best-selling luxury cars in the world, Mercedes-Benz models have been built since 1926. One of the company’s founders, Karl Benz, is often credited with inventing the world’s first automobile, the Benz Patent Motorwagen, in 1886. Known for its top-quality engineering, the company has also introduced technical and safety innovations that have become standard in all cars, including anti-lock brakes and airbags. After an hour’s drive to the factory, watch as these fine automobiles come together along a vast and intricate assembly line. More than 3 million Mercedes have been built here since the plant’s opening in 1992, and you will see the ballet of robotic arms that make it all possible. During your visit, marvel at the all-glass, futuristic visitor center. Note that there are many stairs on this tour and no elevator. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines.
