Commonwealth Landings of Normandy

Commemorate a Momentous Military Operation Visit memorials to a World War II invasion that had far reaching consequences for British and Canadian soldiers. Drive to the town of Ranville, the first village in France to be liberated by the British 6th Airborne Division. Visit its cemetery and pay respects to the 2,236 Commonwealth soldiers buried here. Continue along the coast, passing Sword Beach on your way to Juno Beach. Upon arrival, visit the Juno Beach Centre, which commemorates the 45,000 Canadians who gave their lives during the war. Explore exhibits and see where the troops launched their assault before walking by the beach to a local restaurant for lunch. Then, drive to the seaside village of Arromanches to visit its museum, the first one dedicated to the D-Day Landings. See historic artifacts to gain a deeper understanding of the operation before having free time to explore Gold Beach. After, travel back to your ship. Please note: this excursion is offered from September 2026 only. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines. Total time walking or standing is normally not longer than 1.5 hours.
