Technik Museum Speyer

Modern Marvels From Land, Sea and Air Discover technological wonders, from submarines to space shuttles, during a visit to the Technik Museum Speyer. Meet your guide and set out on foot toward the museum, home to more than 2,000 exhibits. Upon arrival, follow your museum guide to explore artifacts such as a German Navy submarine; an Antonov, the largest production propeller-driven airplane ever built; a Lufthansa jumbo jet; and a Russian BURAN orbiter, the counterpart of the American space shuttle. At the end of your guided tour, you may choose to return to your ship, passing the 10th-century Speyer Cathedral—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Alternatively, you can continue to browse the museum on your own, possibly exploring the Museum Wilhelmsbau’s collection of mechanical musical instruments and historical weapons and uniforms. At the end of your time there, return to the ship on your own. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
