Mulberry Harbors, Normandy American Cemetery & Omaha Beach
Allied Ingenuity and Fallen Heroes Tribute Marvel at the courage of the Allied troops who took Omaha Beach under a barrage of heavy fire on June 6, 1944. Visit the Arromanches Debarkment D-Day Museum, which chronicles the genius of the Mulberry Harbors, temporary steel roadways that floated on steel or concrete pontoons. These miles-long structures supported the Allied troops with the continued provision of supplies after the D-Day invasion. Follow the coastline to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. Located on a cliff above Omaha Beach, it is the final resting place of nearly 9,400 Americans. Your group will lay a wreath as a tribute to the brave soldiers who lost their lives. Take time to observe the rows of white crosses while paying your respects. Cap your tour with free time to explore Omaha Beach before boarding your motor coach for the return journey to your awaiting ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines.
