Royal Palace of Serbia
Opulent Home and History of Country’s Royal Family Get a glimpse into the life of Serbian nobility during a visit to the stunning Royal Palace. Built in the Serbian-Byzantine Revival style, the palace boasts a grand facade of white stone and a luxurious interior. Originally home to Serbia’s royal family, it became the residence of President Tito before being returned to the royal family after the fall of the communist regime. Today, it is the home of Crown Prince Alexander II and his family. Soak up the atmosphere and learn about the family’s history as you tour the opulent rooms, such as the Formal Entrance Hall, paved with stone and decorated with reproductions of medieval frescoes, and the dining room, where fine golden china will be on display for you to view. Descend into the basement to marvel at its striking hand-painted walls and ceiling before capping your visit at the Royal Chapel dedicated to St. Andrew. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines.
