Constanța On Foot

A Historic Old Town and Constanța Casino Explore Constanța, Romania’s oldest continuously inhabited city, to see its scenic coast and historic buildings. Drive into the city, meet your guide and set off on foot along the city’s cobblestone streets towards its old town. See the Capitolina Wolf and Ovid statues, as well as the 155-foot-high minaret of the Turkish mosque and the Old Town Hall. Take in the Orthodox Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, built between 1883 and 1885. It was damaged during World War II but was carefully restored in 1951. Stroll along the promenade for scenic views over the harbor and the Black Sea before arriving at the art nouveau Constanța Casino. Step inside to explore exhibits that focus on both the Black Sea and its own history. Finally, have free time, perhaps ascending the stairs to discover the restored ballroom and Hall of Mirrors or returning to the marina for another look at the sea. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines. Total time walking or standing is normally not longer than 1.5 hours.
