Casablanca & Its Grand Mosque

Tour Casablanca’s Magnificent Mosque and Visit a Picturesque Medina Visit a colossal seaside mosque, explore the Habous Quarter, and see the Royal Palace and United Nations Square. Begin with a drive to one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks, the Hassan II Mosque, set atop a promontory overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Completed in 1993, it was commissioned by King Hassan II and designed by French architect Michel Pinseau. Step inside to view the handcrafted marble walls and retractable roof of the mosque, one of the largest in the world. A maximum of 105,000 worshippers can gather for prayer here: 25,000 inside the mosque hall and another 80,000 on the grounds. After your visit, continue along Casablanca’s corniche, and enjoy free time to explore the Habous Quarter, home to the Royal Palace of Casablanca. Conclude at Place des Nations Unies, which translates to United Nations Square, where you will have time for photos before returning to your ship. Please note: when visiting religious sites, both men and women should ensure that clothing covers their shoulders and knees. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines
