Liljestrand House
A Close-up Look at Hawaiian Modern Architecture Learn about the work of architect Vladimir Ossipoff and see it firsthand at the famed Liljestrand House. Drive from your ship to the slopes of Mount Tantalus, high above Honolulu, for a visit to this iconic home, which has been listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places since 2008. Completed in 1952 for Howard and Betty Liljestrand, the residence was designed by Vladimir Ossipoff and is recognized as a defining example of the Hawaiian modern architectural style. During your guided visit, explore interiors that remain much as the family left them, with furniture and artwork hand-selected by Ossipoff still occupying the rooms.
