From the Atlas Mountains to the Shore
A Kaleidoscopic View of Morocco’s Desert, Sea and Mountains Take in the spectacular views and the colorful culture of the Atlas Mountains where they meet the sea. Board your sturdy 4x4 vehicle and travel to the coastal village of Aghroud—the homeowners in this Berber community paint the walls of their homes in warm, bright colors, each different from their neighbor. Soak up your surroundings as you explore Morocco’s “rainbow village” and take in the sight of these vibrant buildings. Farther north around Tamri, you will learn about the production of argan oil by the Berbers in the region, a labor-intensive procedure that has been designated as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. After sampling some flavorful Berber treats, such as amlou , a bread dip made of almonds, honey and argan oil, you will enjoy the sweeping views over the nearby sand dunes. From here, return to your ship in Agadir. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines.
