Ghent on Foot

Local Landmarks and Treats Set out on a guided walk through the streets of Ghent to uncover its history and taste local delicacies. Board your motor coach and drive to Ghent, where you will climb aboard a canal boat to reach the city center. Accompanied by your guide, embark on a journey through the medieval heart of the city, beginning at St. Michael’s Bridge. Adorned with intricate carvings, this 20th-century stone arch bridge offers sweeping views of the old port, Ghent’s iconic “Three Towers” and the medieval Castle of the Counts. Continue through the cobbled streets, listening as your guide shares insights about the history of the city and the landmarks you pass. Along the way, pause to sample local specialties, which may include Belgian chocolates, beers and more. After your guided walk, you will have free time to explore further on your own before returning to your awaiting ship. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities. Activities by foot may contain difficult, unpaved surfaces and/or multiple stairs and steep inclines. Total time walking or standing may exceed 3 hours.
