Curious Pinnipeds of Punta Loma Reserve Paddle through the waters of the Golfo Nuevo by kayak, viewing sea lions among the beautiful coastal scenery. Transfer from your ship to Punta Loma Reserve, home to the only permanent South American sea lion rookery in the gulf. Upon arrival, receive your kayaking gear and attend a safety briefing and short instructional session, then take to the waters in your kayak. Follow your naturalist guide, admiring the wild coastal scenery of the sanctuary as you paddle past the low cliffs studded with caves and fossils. Look out for sea lions, which can weigh up to 700 pounds, basking and barking on the rocks and beaches. These naturally curious animals frequently plunge into the sea, so do not be surprised if a few pop their heads up close to your kayak.
