Antibes & Renoir Museum
Scenic Seaside Town and Home of Renowned Artist Explore the charming seaside town of Antibes and the work of famous impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir in Cagnes. One of France’s oldest cities, Antibes was founded by Greek merchants during the 5th century. Today, it is a popular resort town, its large harbor lined with luxury yachts. Take a guided walk through its old district, passing the 17th-century ramparts while admiring views of the Mediterranean and the distant Alps. See the Grimaldi Château, home to a museum on Pablo Picasso, then enjoy free time for lunch at your leisure. Afterward, you will journey inland to the village of Cagnes to visit the former home of Renoir, now a museum dedicated to his work. The artist spent the last years of his life here, the enchanting Provençal light influencing his works. Tour his house and studio, and see original paintings and sculptures. Later, you will return to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines.
