Folk Music & Dance of Maracalagonis
Sardinia (Cagliari), Italy

Folk Music & Dance of Maracalagonis

A Celebration of Tradition, Wine and Dance Gain an overview of Sardinia's capital, then head into the rustic countryside to witness rich musical traditions. Join your local guide for a scenic drive around the city, including a photo stop at the Santuario di Bonaria, a charming church beloved among locals. At the top of Mount Urpino, a low-lying park, you can take in sweeping views of the city. Leaving Cagliari, you will pass through the beautiful agricultural area of Maracalagonis, rich in long-cherished traditions despite its close proximity to the more modern corners of Sardinia. You can sometimes glimpse wild boar and Sardinian deer in this unspoiled area nestled in the foothills of the Sette Fratelli Mountains. You will gather at a local country house, where a group of dancers in traditional Sardinian dress will share their village’s music and dance. You can also taste some locally made products and wine during your visit. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
