Noboribetsu Date Jidaimura & Noboribetsu “Hell Valley”

An Interactive Open Air Village and Natural Wonder Take a stroll around an open air village and see the dramatic “Ring of Fire,” a landscape of steaming hot springs. Enjoy a scenic drive by motor coach through rolling, forested countryside to the renowned Noboribetsu area, where you will visit the Noboribetsu Date Jidaimura, an open air village that recreates Japan’s Edo Period (1603–1867). View traditional buildings such as ninja houses and theaters, try classic games, and enjoy colorful street and stage performances. Encounter stealthy ninjas and graceful Oiran courtesans, celebrated for their mastery of arts such as poetry, calligraphy, music, and the tea ceremony. Continue to the Noboribetsu “Hell Valley” (Jigokudani). Located along the Pacific “Ring of Fire,” this dramatic volcanic landscape features a vast crater filled with steaming fumaroles and mineral-rich hot springs. After your visit, return to your ship. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities.
