Flavors of the North

Culinary Journey of Local Swedish Delicacies Journey through Sweden’s culinary diversity—from north to south and from traditional to contemporary cuisine. Few aspects of a country convey its history and culture as much as the local cuisine. Sweden is a country with a strong and diverse culinary tradition, which includes reindeer and game meat from the north, fresh and preserved fish along the coast, and bread and forest products all across the country. However, Swedes also have been open to foreign influences, and new products and flavors have made their way onto the Nordic table. Drive to one of Stockholm’s vibrant neighborhoods, brimming with restaurants, cafés and specialty houses. Meet the vendors and chefs who, through their passion, preserve old traditions while bringing delicious innovation. Taste a mix of food samples that represent both classic Swedish fare and more daring flavors before returning to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
