Volvo Museum

Explore Storied Automobile Manufacturer’s Development Through the Years Discover the history and evolution of Volvo during an excursion to its namesake museum. Founded in 1927 to manufacture automobiles that could withstand the cold climate and rough roads of Sweden, Volvo has expanded through the years to also produce heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, and marine and airplane engines. Opened in 1995 and jointly run by both the Volvo Group and Volvo Car Group, the museum covers Volvo’s development from its founding to the present with an extensive collection of iconic car models, exhibits and creative prototypes. See the ÖV4—the company’s first automobile—as well as current production models of cars, trucks and more. View the museum’s archive of historical documents and images, which tell the story of one of Sweden’s most successful companies. After your tour, you will return to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
