Secrets of Cider
Tour the Fertile Farmlands of Norway Witness magnificent fjord landscapes, fruit orchards, family-owned traditional farms and the famous Hardangerfjord. Head to Brimnes with your guide and take the Hardanger Bridge—the longest suspension bridge in Norway—to Bruravik. Then trace the Ulvikfjord on a drive through the charming village of Ulvik. This region has a long tradition of farming, with fruit cultivation going back to the 12th century; monks did the harvesting then. Today, fruits and other foods are produced by local farmers; they also continue a tradition of shepherding and fishing. Continue to the Hardanger Juice & Cider Factory, located on a fruit farm where first-rate juice, cider and apple brandy are made. Take a guided tour of the farm and learn about its production methods, then sample Norway’s freshest nectar with stunning views of the orchard. Afterward, you will return to your ship. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines. Total time walking or standing is normally not longer than 1.5 hours.
