Summer in Cassis & Calanques
Marseille, France

Summer in Cassis & Calanques

Mediterranean Coast by Land and Sea Journey to a quintessential fishing village and see the geological wonders of Calanques National Park. Join your local guide for a scenic drive to the fishing village of Cassis, passing Cap Canaille, France’s highest sea cliff, along the way. Your motor coach will drop you off at the top of Cassis, where you will continue your journey to the bay area. At the harbor, embark a small boat to cruise among the stunning Massif des Calanques, a wild and rugged terrain spanning 12 miles along the coast. This is one of France’s great areas of natural beauty. The steep-walled inlets and bays of this national park are the geological marvels of southern France. Caves once inhabited by smugglers and hermits lie beneath the surface of these towering rock formations. Back on dry land, enjoy free time in Cassis before returning to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
