A Tram Ride into the Past
Porto (Leixões), Portugal

A Tram Ride into the Past

Explore Historic Porto by Streetcar and by Foot Board a tram for a relaxing journey to Ribeira and a tour of an opulent church. Porto’s first tram line was inaugurated on September 12, 1895; you will set off in a fully restored streetcar from the early 1900s. Your journey “into the past” takes you along the riverfront, past various points of interest, while allowing you to enjoy a glass of port wine. After alighting, take a guided tour of the Church of São Francisco, with its magnificent 18th-century gold-encrusted interior. Afterward, take a panoramic tour through the heart of the city and discover how Porto has developed as a modern town while preserving its past; your tour will conclude at your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
