Quaint Villages of Dubrovnik’s Riviera

Explore Small Villages and See a Historic Water Mill Leave the city behind to explore the villages set along Dubrovnik’s Riviera, calling at Cavtat and historic Ljuta. Depart the city by motor coach with your guide and begin your journey to Cavtat, one of the most beautiful towns in the Dubrovnik area. Originally a Greek settlement called Epidaurus, it became a Roman colony around 228 BC. Stroll along the palm-lined promenade of this quaint little town set on Župa Bay, enclosed by two peninsulas and known for its peaceful atmosphere and lush vegetation. Continue by coach through the Konavle Valley to Ljuta, where you will view the workings of a historic water mill. Observe the traditional process of flour production while learning about the river’s importance to the town’s residents and Dubrovnik’s economy for centuries—it is now a protected cultural site. After a light snack, you will return to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
