RIB through Rombaksfjord
Narvik, Norway

RIB through Rombaksfjord

Glide into Historic Waters Embark on a scenic ride by RIB through the pristine Rombaksfjord. From your ship, walk to your launch point where you will meet your guide. Here, listen to a short safety briefing before boarding your RIB and setting out into the Rombaksfjord. Revel in the nature that surrounds you as you glide through the calm waters, admiring the sheer mountains that rise out of the fjord. While peaceful today, this inlet was once the scene of naval battles during World War II. Many ships, including German destroyers and a U-boat, were sunk here and still reside at the fjord’s sea bottom. Glimpse Rombaksbotn, a remote and once-thriving town that supported the construction of the Ofotbanen railway. Marvel at its dramatic setting before sailing back to Narvik and returning to your ship. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities. Activities by foot may contain difficult, unpaved surfaces and/or multiple stairs and steep inclines. Total time walking or standing may exceed 3 hours.
