Sea Kayaking in Svalbard

Admire the Natural Beauty of the Adventfjord Paddle out into the pristine waters of the Adventfjord to kayak and get closer to nature. Don your dry suit and required life jacket, and learn some tips on technique before climbing into your kayak. This traditional form of Arctic travel allows you to see the beauty of your surroundings as you paddle from colorful Longyearbyen into the stunning Adventfjord, made up of lofty mountains and arctic waters. Your guide will provide interesting insight into the local flora and fauna as you keep watch for Arctic wildlife; the fjord is visited by various species of seabirds, whales, seals and walruses. You will also learn more about Longyearbyen and its mining heritage; the historic northern shores of the fjord still house remnants of its coal production days. After your kayak experience, return to base and your awaiting ship. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities.
