Longyearbyen, Svalbard and Jan Mayen Islands

Dogsled on Wheels

Cross Arctic Tundra with Man’s Best Friend Venture into the rugged tundra on a thrilling wheeled sled ride pulled by a team of huskies. Dogsledding traces its roots back to around 1000 AD and the north Canadian Inuit people. After European colonization of North America, the practice was quickly adopted in northern Europe. Transfer to a husky farm on the outskirts of Longyearbyen, where you will meet your guide and your eager huskies. Well-adapted to the harsh Arctic conditions and boasting a unique cardiovascular system that increases their endurance, these huskies love to run. Take a seat in your wheel-equipped sled or take charge, then set off into the wilderness to Advent Valley. On this adventure, take turns steering the team of huskies. Admire the picturesque landscape as you traverse the terrain, following your guide. Finally, say farewell to your new friends, before returning to your ship. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities.
