Coastal Dogsled-Wagon Ride

A Thrilling Arctic Experience by the Sea Take a ride in a sled-wagon, pulled by strong sled dogs, and get close to nature and wildlife. Enjoy a short, scenic drive by van to the starting point, where you will meet your friendly, four-legged friends and their handler. Enjoy their energetic charisma before the dogs are harnessed, then board your sled-wagon to begin your coastal ride. Keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife, including seals, reindeer and flocks of migratory birds that travel to Svalbard each summer. If you are lucky, you may even spot a lounging walrus or pod of beluga whales. Stops will be made along the way for the dogs to refresh, and for you to enjoy the sights of nature and the stunning views over the fjord. After your invigorating ride, return to base and back to your awaiting ship. Please note: guests should dress appropriately for the weather, with windproof outerwear, warm layers, gloves and headwear. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
