Treasures of Valencia

A Walking Tour of the City’s Silk and Artistic Wonders Visit a trio of Valencia’s most magnificent and historic buildings by foot. Meet your guide for a short drive to the Old Town of Valencia, where you will stroll to La Lonja de la Seda de Valencia, the famed Silk Exchange. This gem of Gothic architecture was built in 1469, a soaring symbol of the city’s prosperous silk industry. Admire its colonnaded hall and vaulted ceilings before continuing to the baroque-style Valencia Silk Museum. Recently reopened after careful renovation, this was the headquarters of the Velluters Guild, the guild of the velvet weavers. Browse its rich interiors and see the Hall of Fame, where the top leaders met. Its stunning ceramic tile floors depict the four continents known at that time. Enjoy a live demonstration of weaving, then walk to the Church of San Nicolás, where lush baroque frescoes adorn the walls and ceilings. After time on your own, return to your ship. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities. Activities by foot may contain difficult, unpaved surfaces and/or multiple stairs and steep inclines.
