Ancient Salona & Medieval Trogir

Discover Dalmatia's Churches and Temples Explore two magnificent historic cities, one ancient and one medieval. Drive into the peaceful countryside of Solin and the ancient site of Salona. Once home to more than 40,000 people, Salona is home to the astonishing remains of temples, amphitheaters, early Christian churches, burial grounds and baths. Tour the site with your guide and learn about daily life in times of antiquity. You will also visit the charming town of Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex in Central Europe. Its streets are densely packed with spectacular stone houses, palaces, churches and monasteries that span the ages. Here, stroll the narrow lanes and passages and visit the spectacular 13th-century Cathedral of St. Lawrence. After refreshments and free time to explore on your own, return to your awaiting ship. Please note: during religious services, the Cathedral of St. Lawrence will be closed to visitors. Guests will visit the Trogir City Museum instead. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines.
