The Battlefields of Gallipoli

A Moving Tribute to a Long-Fought World War I Campaign Visit the tranquil memorial site of one of World War I’s longest and most deadly battles. Drive across the Dardanelles Strait to Eceabat on the Gallipoli Peninsula, site of a failed eight-month Allied campaign against the Ottomans during World War I. Stop to visit the Kabatepe Museum and view exhibits that chronicle the naval and land campaigns of the Gallipoli Campaign, before continuing to Gallipoli National Park. Here, you will explore the park by foot and visit monuments and cemeteries honoring the dead of both sides in a sylvan setting of forest and groves. See ANZAC Cove and Lone Pine Cemetery, each dedicated to servicemen from the British Empire, including the legendary Australia and New Zealand Army Corps. Then visit the Turkish 57th Regiment Cemetery and Conkbayir Hill, site of some of the fiercest fighting. After, return to your ship. Please note: the Kabatepe Museum is closed on Tuesdays. Guests instead will visit the ANZAC Commemorative Site and the Ari Burnu Cemetery. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities.
