East Coast Island Drive
Magnificent Aegean Vistas Take in the magnificent Aegean beauty of Rhodes on this leisurely excursion past dramatic vistas. Meet your guide at our berth, then drive along the island’s east coast through lush vineyards and olive groves. In Lindos, pause for photos to take in the village’s cluster of whitewashed houses hugging the shore and the rocky outcropping and acropolis overlooking the splendid scene. Later, pause at Psarto, a small fishing harbor where St. Paul is said to have landed on the island. Pass the imposing Castle of Feraklos, built by the Knights of St. John, en route to Kolympia, once a traditional fishing village and now a small resort area. Here, enjoy a glass of ouzo or wine with traditional local meze (snacks) at a seaside taverna. Make a final stop at Monte Smith, site of ancient Rhodes’s acropolis, for sweeping views of the city and the sea, before returning to your ship. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines.
