Palma & the Habsburg Estate Son Marroig

See Palma’s Historic Landmarks and Scenic Vistas View the important monuments and beautiful architecture of Palma, founded by the Romans more than 2,100 years ago. Drive through Paseo Marítimo, passing by its palm-lined promenade and luxury yacht marina as you journey toward La Seu Cathedral, Spain’s second-largest Gothic cathedral. Step inside to view its interior with your guide, which was redesigned by famed architect Antoni Gaudí during the early 20th century. After your visit, continue on foot through the Old Town to learn about its rich history and enjoy some free time. Finally, stop at Son Marroig, set on the west coast. This former Habsburg estate has been turned into a museum that exhibits mementos and artwork related to Archduke Ludwig Salvator’s stay on the island. Take in the views from its picturesque garden overlooking Na Foradada, a striking rock formation famous for the roughly circular hole in the rock. Order of visits may vary. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
