Trollstigen Viewpoint & Traditional Lunch

Ascend to Great Heights and Sample Local Cuisine Take in the views from Trollstigen, or “The Troll’s Path,” and enjoy a lunch of classic Norwegian fare. Begin your journey with a short drive to Eidsdal, where you will board a ferry for a crossing to Linge. Upon arrival, settle in and ascend Trollstigen in your vehicle—this historic road was completed in 1936 and is known for its hairpin turns and steep climb, which reaches 2,800 feet. Pause at the plateau for views of rugged peaks and cascading waterfalls before continuing onward to Gudbrandsjuvet, where the Valldøla River rushes through a deep gorge framed by wooden walkways. Visit a local hotel to enjoy a three-course lunch, featuring regional specialties such as trout or salmon and grilled reindeer. Return via ferry to Eidsdal and stop at Eagle’s Bend for a photo stop and a glimpse of the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord before returning to your ship by tender. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
