Depart your ship by motor coach and travel along the shores of Lyttelton Harbour before ascending Dyers Pass. Stop for views across the Canterbury Plains toward the Southern Alps, then continue to the rural district of Tai Tapu. Upon arrival at a privately owned property, meet your hosts and step inside their restored, century-old farmhouse, which boasts traditional features including open fires and a country kitchen. Your hosts will share stories about the house’s history and accompany you on a walk through the gardens, where peonies, rhododendrons and roses framed by an avenue of quince trees lead toward open paddocks. After, return to the house to enjoy tea or coffee served with homemade baked treats, then begin the journey back to your awaiting ship. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines. Total time walking or standing is normally not longer than 1.5 hours.
