Wat Pho & Tuk-Tuk Ride
Bangkok (Laem Chabang), Thailand

Wat Pho & Tuk-Tuk Ride

Revered Buddhist Temple and Its Famous Statue Explore the ornately decorated Buddhist temple of Wat Pho, or the “Temple of the Reclining Buddha.” One of Thailand’s most revered temples, Wat Pho dates back to the 17th century, making it one of Bangkok’s largest and oldest. Its complex is home to more than 1,000 Buddha images as well as its famous Reclining Buddha. Gaze upon this immense statue, which measures 150 feet long and 50 feet high; the Buddha’s body is covered in gold leaf, with mother-of-pearl inlays in its eyes and on the soles of its feet. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere as you stroll through the complex, viewing the many statues and intricately detailed murals that cover the temple’s walkways. After lunch, take a ride in a tuk-tuk—an open-motor tricycle—on a scenic drive to Chinatown. Set out on foot to explore more with your guide before returning to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
