Best of Taipei

Museums, Shrines and Grand Hotel of Taiwanese Capital Discover the important landmarks of vibrant Taipei during an all-day excursion around the city. Drive by motor coach to the National Palace Museum, home to a vast collection of nearly 700,000 priceless Chinese artifacts, ranging from the Neolithic Age to modern times. After time to explore, continue to the revered Martyrs’ Shrine, built on Chingshan Mountain and overlooking the Keelung River. Here, 330,000 spirit tablets commemorate the soldiers who died defending their country. Next, enjoy lunch at the Grand Hotel, a fine example of Chinese classical architecture that has hosted many foreign dignitaries throughout the years. Then, head to the Lungshan Temple, home of the gilded Goddess of Mercy. Step inside to learn about the deities that reside here, then conclude with a visit to the blue-roofed National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, before returning to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
