Spotlight on a Serene Garden and Active Volcano Enjoy a day full of scenic landscapes and rich history on a tour of Kagoshima and its surroundings. Relax in the serene surroundings of the Sengan-en garden, admiring the Sengan-en estate’s spectacular backdrop of Sakurajima and Kagoshima Bay. Constructed by the Shimazu clan in 1658, the garden’s shrines, streams, ponds and bamboo grove surroundings make for an enjoyable stroll. Enjoy tea and lunch at the estate, as well as time to explore independently. Afterward, learn about Sakurajima, an active volcano that routinely erupts to this day, at its visitor’s center. You will also make a brief stop at nearby Yogan Nagisa Park, where you may soak your feet in its natural hot spring. Then, travel to the Arimura Lava Observatory for stunning views of Kinko Bay and the volcano from a picturesque lookout, before returning to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines.
