Maritime History & Dolphin Cruise
Port Adelaide District and River Sailing Explore a historic area along the Port River and sail to see dolphins and shipwrecks. Travel to Port Adelaide, a rejuvenated, historic waterside district of cobbled lanes, heritage buildings and vibrant street art. Here, you will board a boat to glide along the Port River. Your skipper will share insight into local history as you make your way to Ships’ Graveyard, where the remains of at least 40 abandoned vessels of all types and sizes lie partially covered by mangroves. Pass through the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary to see one of the world’s only wild dolphin populations living within a city, before visiting an international bird sanctuary. Keep your eyes peeled for the rare Curlew sandpiper, which can often be found here. Upon your return, you can stroll through Port Adelaide or stop at the South Australian Maritime Museum, before returning to your ship. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines.
