Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park Nature Hike

Immerse Yourself in Nature and Admire Kodiak’s Scenery Explore Kodiak’s beauty and wartime history on a scenic hike through the lush scenery of the “Emerald Isle.” Embark on a picturesque drive to Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park. Upon arrival, set out with your map and begin your hike through the stunning landscape along well-maintained trails. Inclines through forested areas present a challenge, while steep clifftops offer breathtaking views over the ocean. As you walk, keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife, including the whales that are known to frequent these waters throughout the season. You will also see some of the many seabirds that inhabit the park’s coastline. Along the way, take in the remnants of World War II bunkers and gun placements. After your invigorating hike, you will return to your motor coach for the drive to your awaiting ship. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities. Activities by foot may contain difficult, unpaved surfaces and/or multiple stairs and steep inclines. Total time walking or standing may exceed 3 hours.
