Sitka Sound by Kayak

Paddle Scenic Alaskan Waterways Admire the natural beauty and wildlife of the Sitka Sound during a panoramic paddle by kayak. Set along the rugged western edge of Baranof Island, the sound is a maze of narrow passages and numerous islands, many of which are only accessible from the water. Embark your sightseeing vessel for a cruise to the floating launch station at Middle Island, where you will receive your kayaking equipment and a short safety briefing. Then, board your two-person kayak with your paddling partner and head out into the sound with your guide, who will choose the best route based on weather and water conditions. Keep your eyes peeled for curious harbor seals, sea otters and other species of wildlife that live around these islands. During a remote beach landing, enjoy time to explore the beach and intertidal zone. Then, return to the launch station and transfer to your ship. Please note: guests must sign a liability waiver to participate in this tour.
