Tales of Salt and Wine

Historic Nin, Salt Museum & Award-Winning Winery Visit Nin for a walking tour, learn about the area’s heritage of sea salt harvesting and taste local wines. Take a scenic drive to ancient island town of Nin. Situated in the middle of a shallow lagoon, it is connected to the mainland by two stone bridges and known for its miles of beautiful beaches. Stroll through the center to learn about its past as the home of several kings and a medieval Christian diocese as you take in centuries-old architecture. Then, discover the local heritage of over 1,500 years of salt harvesting from the Adriatic Sea at Nin Saltworks, where the town’s story is narrated at a museum next to the pools where it has been collected by hand for centuries. After, drive to Croatia’s first organic winery, award-winning Škaulj, in the picturesque Ravni Kotari region. Sample a selection of their fine vintages before returning to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
