Pag: A Cheeselover’s Paradise

Traditional Dalmatian Island Life Immerse yourself in the slow pace of yesterday during a half-day exploration of the island of Pag. Drive with your guide to the island’s eponymous town of Pag and visit the remains of its fortified convent and church. In the well-preserved medieval town, admire the grand buildings like the Church of the Assumption and the Duke’s Palace, but be sure to also admire the detail of the ornately carved door posts, tiny baroque balconies and centuries-old stone coats of arms. Next, continue to the village of Kolan, the agricultural center of Pag island. You will stop at a cheese factory along a gentle slope and hilly pastures. During your visit, sample the award-winning piquant Paški sir, or Pag cheese, a treasured delicacy. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
