Tortuguero Canals
View Nature’s Splendor in a Coastal Paradise Explore a lush network of natural waterways and manmade canals in one of Costa Rica’s unique coastal environments. The Tortuguero Canals, considered the second-largest wetland in Costa Rica, is located along the northeastern Caribbean coast and composed of an extensive system of natural and man-made waterways. The canals’ many ecozones support a range of wildlife, from howler monkeys to a vast array of bird species, making it one of Costa Rica’s most rewarding nature experiences. Drive with your guide to the dock, board your vessel and watch for local wildlife including toucans, white-faced monkeys and more during a scenic cruise. Upon your return to shore, settle in to enjoy a traditional Caribbean performance while sipping on refreshments, followed by an opportunity to shop for a memento of your trip. After, begin the journey back to your awaiting ship. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines.
