Santa Barbara Cenote

Swim in Subterranean Waters and Taste Local Flavors Take an underground swim in one of the Yucatán’s remarkable cenotes and sample a taste of Yucatecan cuisine. Meet your guide and transfer to the cenote, one of many dotted throughout the Yucatán region—these limestone sinkholes have been shaped over millennia by rainwater erosion and filled with crystal-clear groundwater. An elevator brings you into the cavern, where you will find a natural pool nestled beneath the vaulted rock. Take a dip in its calm waters and swim at your own pace beneath the cave’s ceiling. After your swim, settle in to learn about the vibrant flavors that define Yucatecan cooking, known for its blend of Maya traditions with Spanish, Caribbean and Middle Eastern influences. Choose one option from a curated menu of traditional dishes and enjoy authentic local flavors before beginning the journey back to your awaiting ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
