Acadia National Park’s Park Loop Road & Schooner Sail

Scenic Byway Drive and Cruise on Frenchman Bay Discover Maine’s gorgeous landscapes during a relaxing excursion by land and sea. Your journey will take you along Acadia National Park’s scenic Park Loop Road. Admire the rugged coastline, passing Schooner Head and Thunder Hole, where you can witness the power of the Atlantic Ocean as its waves crash into the rocky shore at high tide. Travel through dense pine forests and past the pink granite face of Otter Cliff, rising 110 feet above the water. In Bar Harbor, board the Margaret Todd , a 151-foot-long four-masted schooner, for a picturesque sail around Frenchman Bay. As your captain navigates around the Porcupine Islands, take in views of Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and imposing Cadillac Mountain. Learn about geographic points of interest and local wildlife such as the porpoises, seals, ospreys and bald eagles that inhabit the area. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines. Total time walking or standing is normally not longer than 1.5 hours.
