Dale Fjord Farm

Visit One of Norway’s Few Operational Summer Farms Gain firsthand insight into the traditional farming life that has thrived along the Norwegian coast for centuries. You will meet your guide for a drive up to the famous Ørnesvingen, or Eagle’s Bend, a spectacular viewpoint. After time here to admire the breathtaking vistas, continue through the rugged landscape to the fjord on the mountain’s opposite slopes. You will arrival at the Dale Fjord Farm, a family-owned enterprise located in the Norddal Valley that has been part of the Dale family since 1790. Meet your hosts, who will welcome you into their home and farm with refreshments. During your visit, learn how the fjord and mountain farms operated as one unit, moving their goat herds to where “the grass is greenest” in the mountains from June to September; the rest of the year both animals and people live in the valley. Afterward, you will board your motor coach and return to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
