Colebrooke Park, Seat of Viscount Brookeborough
Privileged Access to a Country Estate Visit Colebrooke Park, a historic country estate and seat of Viscount and Viscountess Brookeborough. Step back into history and receive a warm welcome to this noble family home, built in the 17th century with additions in the early 19th century. Following the death of the current Viscount’s grandfather in 1973, the property lay empty until 1980, when he and his wife moved in to begin restoration. During a private visit, the history of the estate will be brought alive as Viscount Brookeborough recounts his rich family history and its links to the Burning of The White House in 1812, his 38 years in the House of Lords and 25 years as lord-in-waiting to the late Queen Elizabeth II. You will conclude your visit by enjoying lively discussions and a lunch of freshly prepared homegrown food with Lord and Lady Brookeborough in the grand dining room, before returning to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
