Curling with a Pro

Learn to Curl and Compete with Fellow Guests Hit the ice and learn the sport of curling, then put your newfound skills to the test in a friendly competition. Believed to have originated on the frozen lakes of Scotland during the early 16th century and often called “chess on ice,” curling is a sport in which two teams take turns sliding polished granite stones across an ice sheet toward a circular target marked on the ice. Board your motor coach for a scenic drive to the ice rink, where you will meet your local curling expert and instructor. Receive your safety instructions, then take your gear and head to the ice to learn basic gameplay and techniques such as delivering the stone and sweeping. After time to hone your skills, form teams and compete in a fun and friendly match to see who can take bragging rights back to your ship. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities. Activities by foot may contain difficult, unpaved surfaces and/or multiple stairs and steep inclines. Total time walking or standing may exceed 3 hours.
