Wildlife of Mull

Discover Local Fauna and Bird Life Set out to experience the wildlife of the Isle of Mull with a local expert. Mull is known as “Eagle Island” and is home to numerous species of bird and marine life, as well as local fauna. Meet your guide at the pier and set out on a route across the island in search of wildlife. With binoculars at hand, you will be on the lookout for the island’s “Big 3,” including white-tailed eagles, curious otters and grazing red deer. As you approach the shores of the loch, keep your eyes peeled for porpoises, minke whales and bottle nose dolphins, or hunting grey herons. You will also be on the lookout for the sight of ducks and geese, gliding elegantly in flight across the water, and listening for skylarks and oystercatchers that are known to frequent the island. Enjoy refreshments and a snack before returning to your ship. Please note: wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines. Total time walking or standing is normally not longer than 1.5 hours.
