Stonehenge & Salisbury
Portland, England

Stonehenge & Salisbury

A Historical Wonder & Britain’s Tallest Spire Experience the unforgettable atmosphere of the Stone Circle and stroll the medieval streets of Salisbury. Embark on a scenic drive through the English countryside to reach Stonehenge. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, Stonehenge was constructed in several phases between 3000 and 1000 BC; today, all that remains of its original structure is a series of stones. Each year during the midsummer and midwinter solstices, the sun shines straight through the circle onto the central stone. Marvel at the stunning natural beauty of this mystical site before continuing to Salisbury to enjoy a two-course lunch at a local eatery. Then, you may join a guided walk of the city or explore its sights on your own. Walk through the charming streets and see the spire of the famous Salisbury Cathedral, the tallest in Britain. After, board your motor coach for the drive back to your awaiting ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
